Amangiri, A little Tast of the "Aman" lifestyle for everyone

The mind of Aman has always been, and continues to be, focused on offering the opportunity to experience a complete journey in outstandingly beautiful places in comfort where sincere luxury is determined in the quality and not the quantity.

Indeed, the Aman ‘lifestyle’ is about shared values, a lust for faraway cultures, for the world around that excites, shapes and nourishes. It is an appetite for pampering and a deep appreciation of the creative and elegant – the way Aman responds to the environment, is the way light falls on the table or water fills a pool.

So, Here are a few quick photos of my daily "Aman" routine

Amangiri, You just have to experence it!
(So, Everyone gets that I love, love love my new job now, right?)

Long Week, But a few Highlights

It's been a long hard week since I posted last, but like every day here it's been a lot of fun too. My new Business cards are in

We all had fun putting together extra cribs when we ran out of the ones currently on site (5, now we have 7) during a very busy weekend. Here is Assistant General Manager JP above. It's really nice to be part of a team where everyone is all in it together, including trying to figure out instructions that were only shipped in Indonesian.......

A surprise find at the Local Grocery store, Orangina!!!  I know some kids who want to visit me even more now.....

But Finally, the week is over, and this was the view from the sundeck at my apartment tonight.
Still working tomorrow and Sunday before I get a day off on Monday, but it's still sorta nice to end the week with a view like this.
Have an amazing day!!

Amangiri, Snow in the Desert

So, We have been having a little bit of a cold spell for two days. (Personally, I barely noticed, but everyone around here is dressed up in heavy coats and shivering all the time. It's like 50 degrees! That is t-Shirt and Shorts weather in Unalaska!)
And then Finally this morning about 11am we got what the locals here are calling snow. You can see it up on the ridge line of the Mesa. It's BARELY termination dust, but everyone here is all excited/complaining about it. Some places near us got more like an inch in Big Water UT and more in Flagstaff AZ.
This is really the first time I have seen rain/fog here and the colors of the resort change so much when everything is wet.

Really, a great break in the day.
Of Course tonight, The Power Company is replacing some lines for all of Southern UT so the Power will be out from 11pm-5am on a cold night. The hotel has a generator though so we will not have any issues. My apartment will be without power though......good thing for cell phone alarms.
Back to work now!
Have an Amazing Day!

Amangiri, photos of the Day Easter Weekend

Hi Everyone! Sorry for the few days pause, Moved into my new apartment and we had a full house for the Passover/Easter Weekend so I was rather busy. Here are a few shots from the last few days.

These Three are the view from my new apartment every morning as I get ready to go to work. That is Lake Powell in the background. A million dollar view!!
I just loved this little wildflower that is near the villa from previous posts.
And It got COLD the other night! The temperature extremes here in the high desert are so extreme. From 70s-80s in the day to freezing overnight. The car was covered in ice the other morning.. But it got up to 70 in just a few hours.
I hope Everyone had a great Passover/Easter Weekend. Back to work now!!!
Have an AMAZING day!

Amangiri, Daily Moment of Zen For April 5th

Early afternoon, looking into the courtyard and beyond from the walkway to the Mesa Suites. The distant hills are where they filmed portions of the new Movie "John Carter" which is really much better than the critics have panned it. GO see it if it is still out in your area. Remember that the stories were first written in 1911-114 and are the Father of all current Science fiction. If not for John Carter neither Star Trek or Star Wars would exist.
Peace

Your Amangiri Moment of Zen for April 4th

The room from my Current suite at Amangiri. I will be moving into my new apartment tomorrow so this is my last day staying at the Resort. I had the day off today so I slept in till 10am, and then opened the drapes and the  door to my private balcony, and was treated to this amazing view.

The Amangiri Moment of Zen for April 3

Today, Early morning, looking up the "Mesa Wing" of suites. Scattered clouds, cool, in the 50's-60's, a strong breeze carries the smell of the Apple and Almond blossoms, and the sound of trickling in the water features only adds to the serene and peaceful beauty.

Have a wonderful day!

The Owners Villa at Amangiri

There are some places that are just too amazing to believe, Some buildings that are so much a part of the place, that they are no longer a separate area, but an intricate part of the whole.
The endless pool at the Owners Villa at Amangiri is a perfect example.
As is the step fountain and pool.......

And the amazing views from every window and door

Amangiri. Yeah, it's that cool.

Have a great Day!

Oh, what would everyone think of maybe me doing a picture a day from this amazing spot?
Work is hard and long, but I would love to show you all a few shots that I see every day.
And I think it would be easier to do a single shot a day with a few words than a full post.
Let me know.
